What a Balls!

Have you ever thought about your childhood home? It is the first place whose elements you learned to recognize day after day: a loved one, a wall, a room, a door, a plant, a garden, a bell tower... And together with them you were able to understand who and where you were and where you were going. Over time it has become a mental place where you could feel safe and at ease. Like an ideal pine tree, full of light pollen easily transported by the wind, it gives you courage, invites you to move forward to understand and welcome new environments. And like the pine tree, under whose foliage the space is clean and airy, your home is welcoming and egalitarian, because you can take shelter there comfortably, whether you are rich or poor, black or white, whether you have married one faith or converted to another.

Have you ever seen a bare pine tree? It is the emblem of a parched world, which can no longer welcome or protect you. Ideally it is like that mental house that has dissolved. That inner world, made of knowledge, emotional relationships, elements full of meaning, has suddenly emptied. You are homeless in yourself and before admitting your guilt for your sudden ignorance, you prefer to rely on a bombardment of false truths, aimed at blaming someone or something for your false accident. And who cares about the environment and its degradation, climate change, civil coexistence, the condition of others: everything is your enemy.

Fake news, however, lasts just as long as a soap bubble and does nothing but make you even more arid and homeless, day after day. You harbor resentment, spite, you seek violent emotions to prove to yourself that you are still alive. And maybe all you can do is hope for new worlds different from this one… how to trust in the colonization of space.

But while the pine tree has dried up, the rest of space is still just a set of big balls that spin.
